Gallipoli Soup is a war story...
...This is the story of the Gallipoli campaign of World War I, as seen through the eyes of several participants. Characters include Australians, Turks, English and Germans, in roles of a press correspondent, an ambassador, infantry privates, army and navy officers, a politician and a spy.
Gallipoli Soup is history written to read like a novel, not traditional historical fiction. It is written with the purpose of telling it like it was and why it happened. The reader will experience the horrors of the battlefield as well as gaining insights into why the campaign was initiated and why it played out in the way it did through to the final evacuation.
The Gallipoli battlefield was not a simple fight of good versus evil, but a conflict of more complex origins in which everyone was on the side of righteousness.
Five full page maps, drawn by the author, are included to enable the reader to understand the geography, from the world stage to the hills and valleys of the Gallipoli Peninsula.
